In view of your tax announcements in the upcoming TIF that will also concern ENFIA, and in view of the fact that its complete abolition appears to be fiscally impossible, for the restoration of basic fiscal logic & development perspective, POMIDA, which has several decades of experience in the matter, proposes the adoption of the following feasible and absolutely necessary measures:
Gradual reduction of the budget requested by ENFIA to 50% of today’s, in four years, at a rate of 20% in the first year (equivalent to writing off the last installment) and then at 10% per year!
“ERGA OMNES” reduction of ENFIA! Any reduction that is adopted will only be fair and effective if it applies equally to all taxpayers, without excluding or disfavoring any of their categories, and especially those who paid the most during the crisis years and therefore need it more than anyone others because they are at risk of confiscations and criminal prosecutions!
Repeal of the additional tax and the scandalous tax immunity of land outside the plan. In any case, any government that is really interested in the growth and recovery of the economy should immediately abolish the “supplementary tax” that applies to assets over €250,000 and often amounts to up to 5 times the main tax! This tax was imposed to scandalously tax-exempt the enormous value of unplanned land in our country, resulting in the dramatic depreciation of urban property, construction and investment idleness in our country, as well as unemployment and withering in the relevant sectors of our economy! Therefore, if the non-planned land pays 3-5€ per acre per year, as it should from the beginning, instead of the 1€ it “pays” today, this will be more than enough for the complete abolition of the additional tax!
In conclusion, the sole objective of any intervention in a tax-“Goliath” like ENFIA should be the symmetrical relief of all taxpayers, while expanding its tax basis and not by shrinking it in an attempt to hunt votes with exclusively small-party criteria, which will however end in an inevitable and catastrophic fiscal “Waterloo”!
