In order to avoid misinterpretations that would lead to unjustified generalizations and disastrous consequences for the relations of citizens as well as for public revenues, POMIDA clarifies the following:
The above measure does not establish any kind of generalized rent reduction in all leases. The measure is specific to the beneficiaries and to its two-month period of validity, as it concerns exclusively:
*The rents of the professional facilities (shops and offices) of businesses that must stop operating (see their status at www.pomida.gr), and not those that close by their own business decision, and
*The rents of the main residence of the employees in these specific companies, whose employment contract has been expressly suspended due to the above measures and for this reason they are not paid.
The measure will be specified with PNP and with KYA which we expect.
However, it is absolutely clear and unambiguous that this measure of the 40% reduction in rents does not concern the everyone, but especially those mentioned above.
Also, especially with regard to housing rents, it is clear that it does not concern the rest of the private sector workers, businessmen, traders , the self-employed, public sector employees in general, pensioners, income earners and any other category of main residence tenants. Similarly, it does not concern leases of secondary residences, holiday homes, temporary residences and leases for any other type of use other than the main residence of an employee whose employment contract has been suspended due to the forced shutdown of the business in which he works.
