POMIDA: MEASURES OF DEH FOR HOUSING: THE POSITIVE, THE NEGATIVE AND THE FORGOTTEN!

We believe that the set of measures announced by the Prime Minister Mr.Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the TIF for residential roofs will move in a positive direction, but POMIDA considers it necessary to point out both their negative sides and that important measures we have proposed, often without any budgetary cost, remain without the necessary immediate response:

POMIDA SUCCESS: REFUND OF MUNICIPAL FEES UNFAIRLY COLLECTED IN JANUARY 2022!

POMIDA’s timely and documented intervention to the Deputy Minister of Interior Mr. Stelios Petsa (see below) resulted in once again the solution to the problem with the unfair and “heavy” retroactive charges of up to 200% to the owners properties who hastened to reveal the “undeclared square” of their properties to the Municipalities in the period from January 1 to March 23 of 2022, with a provision included in article 44 of Law 4954/2022/Government Gazette A΄136/9.7.2022.

These are many thousands of owners who, due to a “legislative gap » were asked to pay retroactive municipal fees and fines for up to 14 years, unlike the others who declared later they were released.

Indeed the specific owners will get back the amounts they paid after previously submitting a relevant application to the Municipality where the property is located accompanied by the necessary data and documents proving the charge. p>

Inflation reached 12.1% in June, according to the data announced by the Greek Statistical Authority. In particular, from the comparison of the General Consumer Price Index of the month of June 2022 with the corresponding Index of June 2021, an increase of 12.1% resulted against a 1.0% increase noted during the corresponding comparison of the year 2021 with 2020.

It is characteristic that over the course of a year electricity increased by 70.4%, natural gas by 117.7%, heating oil by 65.1%, fuel and oils by 45.6%, bread and cereals by 15.9%, meats by 14.9%, dairy and eggs by 15.5%, oils and fats by 24.9% and vegetables by 11.3%.

POMIDA points out that in an era where daily reports abound about an alleged dramatic increase in house rents, based on a minimal number of “provocateurs ” of lease ads, and during the same period, according to the official data of ELSTAT, the increase in residential rents was only 0.9% and its effect on the price increase was only 0.03%!

We’ve also published a few more representative letters in an adjacent news item of protest with incredible increases of up to 1088% on last year’s taxes, which mainly come from the additional taxation of section C of article 43 of Law 4916/2022 for the new ENFIA 2022, which provides for multiple taxation of assets worth more than €400,000 , especially when these are unprofitable urban plots.

POMIDA: DESPITE THE “FACE LIFTING”, THE NEW ENFIA REMAINS A HEAVY AND UNFAIR TAX!

POMIDA announces the following:

From the first evaluation of clearing papers of the new ENFIA 2022 the following initials result conclusions:

1. A significant percentage tax reduction is observed for taxpayers with assets of small value each, and most of whom have until now had relatively small or even insignificant tax liabilities.

2 . But a significant portion of long-suffering “middle class” taxpayers are facing a huge tax increase, with the main cause being the unrealistic increase in zone prices from 1.1.2022 in many areas, which was based on pre-coronavirus data, which for most is regardless of today’s reality.

THE INTERPRETATION BY THE MINISTERS OF THE ORDINANCE ON THE UNDECLOSED SQUARES IS WRONG AND OPPRESSIVE FOR THE CITIZENS!

In its response to interested property owners, the Revenue Department of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior states that from the beneficial provision of article 18 of the recent Law 4915/24.3.2022 for the undeclared square meters, those citizens who submitted declarations to the relevant Municipalities before the publication of the law (i.e. for the interim period 1/1 to 24/3/2022) are excluded and therefore all of them must pay retroactive municipal fees for 14 years, plus the heavy prescribed fines, surcharges, etc.!!!

This official interpretation is absolutely incorrect and oppressive for citizens since at the same time it violates the elementary rules of good administration, attempting to arbitrarily introduce discrimination against those citizens who previously rushed to the Municipalities to obtain certificates for the preparation of legal acts with the old objective values, and creates justified protests for unequal treatment of them.

For this reason, POMIDA requested in a letter the intervention of the Senior Minister, Mr. Petsas, who proposed the relevant provision, to resolve the problem.
