The deadline for submitting declarations ends on 12-03-2019 for residents of the country and on 10-06-2019 for residents of other countries and the Greek State. In addition, the deadline for the collection of declarations in the areas of the Municipalities of Marathon and Oropos in Eastern Attica is extended, while the submission of declarations has already begun in the Municipalities of Corinthia, Loutraki and the islands of the Dodecanese. As pointed out in a relevant announcement, the submission of the declaration is mandatory, otherwise the penalties prescribed by law will apply. In particular, the properties that are not declared during the land registration, will be recorded in the Initial Records as “unknown owner” and, if the relevant corrections are not made within the prescribed deadlines, they will be transferred to the Greek State. Therefore, it is especially critical that beneficiaries come no later than the deadline for collection of property declarations to submit their declaration, otherwise more costs and more time will be required to complete the process.
