Specifically we have asked you to address immediately from the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs both the complete indifference to informing the owners about the exact details of employee suspensions, through the ERGANI system, as well as and the ongoing collusion of many employers and employees to place them on virtual suspension of minimum days, so as to simultaneously cheat both their housing landlords, by reducing their rents, and the State.
With your announcement yesterday, you immediately accepted our second request, announcing that from now on the suspension of the employment contracts of the employees in the affected companies will be announced at least the day before the start of the suspension. This will hopefully limit the phenomenon we have highlighted.
The first request remains, which is that any notice of suspension of work in which the employee is a principal or student employee residence should include the name, address and VAT number of the lessor and be sent automatically via TACHISNET to the lessor, who will be informed of what is actually happening.
Also, our request is to establish a reasonable limit of minimum suspension days so that fake suspensions of 1-2 days do not constitute a legal reason for cutting the monthly rent.
With special regards
For the Board of Directors
The President The Secretary General
