The Ministry of Finance is proceeding with two important interventions with a social character.
The first concerns the regulation that will tabled and will be voted on next week, establishing a 40% reduction in rents for students studying in cities and regions far from their place of permanent residence. A necessary condition is that the students are considered dependent children of employees employed in businesses whose operations have been suspended due to the measures to limit the pandemic or who work in businesses that have been affected and their employment contract has been suspended. The measure was deemed imperative, in order to support families with dependent children studying away from their place of residence.
At the same time, the Government is considering the establishment of favorable tax arrangements for property owners, to whom only 60% of the rent is paid, based on the measures it implements.
“>The second intervention concerns a regulation, which extends the measure of financial aid of 800 euros to owners of individual businesses, including self-employed and freelancers, as well as to businesses in the form of О.Е, Е.Е, Ltd. and I.K.E., which do not employ or employ up to twenty (20) workers, compared to the five (5) provided today.
The effort to deal with the adverse consequences of health crisis continues, with a sense of justice.
Also at the PRODEXPO online meeting held with the participation of the President of POMIDA, the Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis expressly stated that the rent reduction regime will not be extended.
