For the month of April, the rent reduction will apply to businesses that have been imposed restrictive measures and are affected at the end of March, including retail, catering, tourism, culture , of sports, transport, and other sectors that remain closed, while for the “affected” businesses that belong to the expanded KAD April list, the mandatory 40% rent discount will continue.
For employees whose employment contract is suspended throughout the territory, a 40% rent discount is given for the main residence and the student residence of their dependent members.
Specifically, the Minister informed us that, in response to the property owners’ request for faster payment of their compensation, he is initiating the payment to their bank accounts of double compensation within the second decade of April, both for both February and March 2021. In particular, for the month of March, and for leases entered into by 31th/1/2021, compensation payments will be made based on the February COVID declaration, without the obligation of the owners to submit a new COVID declaration for March, as long as the processing of the AADE data shows that two main and three, as the case may be, conditions are met:
- The leases must appear active in the AADE Lease Information Information System.
- For these leases, it has been submitted, declaration of COVID in February 2021.
- The lessor-legal entity must not have declared an interruption of operations to AADE.
- The lessee-business must not have declared an interruption of operations to AADE .
- The tenant-employee must be suspended from his employment contract for March.
- And finally, the other general conditions for the payment of compensation must be met.
The Minister added that in cases where compensation is paid without the AADE software having established the lack of legal prerequisites, a legal framework will be established for the return to the State of the amounts will be paid unnecessarily.
A reminder that with last week’s payments, the total number of offsets and compensations is approximately 971,000 and the total amount paid to property owners amounts to 180 million euros.
