THE HONORARY VICE PRESIDENT OF POMIDA ACADEMIC EVANGELOS MOUTSOPOULOS HAS PASSED AWAY!

His research in the fields of Systematic Philosophy and History of Philosophy led him to the foundation and international establishment of five new philosophical branches: 1. Meteorology (he was internationally known as “the philosopher of temporality”), 2. of the Philosophy of Art (with a renewed meaning of the term), 3. of Philosophy of Greek Civilization, 4. History of Modern Greek Philosophy, 5. Philosophy of the Cosmos. As president of the Foundation for Research and Publications of Neohellenic Philosophy (1975) he created the Corpus Philosophorum Graecorum Recentiorum (CPGR). He founded and directed the philosophical magazine “Diotima” and was supervisor of the Research Center of Greek Philosophy of the Academy of Athens. He was an honorary doctor of many universities, was honored with multiple distinctions and was an honorary, regular or corresponding member of many national or international academies abroad. His works, covering dozens of volumes, have been half published abroad and most of them have been translated into many foreign languages.

The composition is also rich. of his work, since as a composer he has presented a series of classical music compositions

To the Greek academic, professor of Philosophy at the University of Athens and composer Evangelos Moutsopoulos was awarded in Vienna the international “Herder Prize”, which bears the name of the great German philosopher, writer and humanist Johann Gottfried von Herder (1744 – 1803) and has been awarded since 1964, to personalities of letters and arts from countries of the East and of southeastern Europe, whose work contributes to the preservation and unity of European cultural heritage.

He was Vice-President of POMIDA from 1990 to 2019, and always present at conferences and critical moments of of her matches.  His speech to the representatives of property owners’ organizations – members of UIPI, about the universal importance of property for man and his existence, which is reflected in the fact that in all modern languages, the two equal auxiliary verbs was historic the “is” and the “have”, which co-determine the struggle and course of life of every human being.    

The Funeral Service of Evangelos Moutsopoulos will be held at the First Cemetery of Athens at the end of the week.
