Dear Ministers, Governors,<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the law 4722\/2020 legislated for the four months of September \u2013 December 2020 the tax refund of 12% of rent reductions of a minimum rate of 30%, based on optional agreements of owners and tenants. The decision on which leases are subject to this regulation was only issued on the last day of September, and to our surprise it only covers retail leases for the month of September, as well as the ongoing mandatory 40% reductions in the rents of five categories of “affected \u00bb activities. Given that rents are due at the beginning of each calendar month, this delay, combined with the fact that nothing has been announced about what will come into effect in October, has caused complete confusion among landlords and tenants and has not been conducive to the common desire us to collectively enter into optional rent reduction agreements.<\/p>\n

For this reason we invite you to immediately announce the government’s intentions<\/strong> on this matter , and in particular clarify what will apply to commercial leases during the next quarter, so that the interested parties can come to an agreement with each other knowing what will ultimately apply for the remainder of the statutory quarter, and agree to optional rent reductions of at least 30 %, declaring them in time in the implementation of the AADE. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

We call on you immediately to remedy this grave injustice, of which both sides are essentially victims, given that many properties are at risk of being abandoned by their tenants, precisely because of this unacceptable exception.<\/p>\n
